Digital Imaging

Somewhere between reality and a printed page, every photographic image becomes digital. You need an image provider who understands every step of this process, and can control it to your benefit. This goes beyond providing pretty images by computer; it's about getting your images to their final destination with the full impact on your target audience.

Pushing down the shutter is only the first of many steps in preserving and enhancing color, tone, and resolution on their long journey from the real world to your customer. I know all the tricks — in bringing out shadow tones that are normally beyond capture, in keeping colors true, in keeping images tack-sharp. I know how to preserve color as it comes in from the real world, becomes dyes on a film's surface or passes through electronic sensors, before being handed off from one color model to another as it goes from software to monitor to paper. I know how to manage tonal information, even where films go near-black, CCDs blow out, and color models fail. And I know how to deal with resolution, both in the field and in the digital darkroom.
